A little intro:
With an urge to take handcrafted finesse to a new high, inspired by the rich culture & poetic verses of India, trained in Fashion Luxury at the Creative Academy, Milan & NIFT, New Delhi, Mrinalini Chandra worked at Tanishq (New Delhi) and MontBlanc (Germany) before launching her own label in India.  Her creations can be defined as an eclectic range of whimsical, slightly modern, slightly ancient, Jewellery Couture and High Fashion Accessories.
We saw her creations and we were like WoW!, Creativity with a unique charm, accessories which can redefine your style and class. We got a chance to talk to her (lucky us 😀 )
Tks: What are the best pieces of your collection to accessorize the Indian Bride this summer?
Mri: The best  Pieces from my collection would be one, the 25 stand ranihaar as its different and not heavy at all. It gives the bride that exotic and full look keeping it chic and statement at the same time. Then the Kaleeras for sure as that is something traditional with a twist. It  keeps the bridal trousseau rooted yet gives it a new age element.

Tks: What kind of jewelry should a Bride have in her trousseau this wedding season other than the wedding day?
Mri: The bride should have some easy pieces like hairclips and finger rings and some bangles that she can put together some interesting looks. She can also have a few hathphools and mangtikkas to add some zing to an otherwise regular look.

Tks: Other than the regular yellow gold what other jewelry options does an Indian Bride have?
Mri: The Indian Bride has the freedom of color so she can opt for precious and semi colored stone jewellery, she can go for (my favourite) Enamel(Meenakari) . I feel its catchin up the trend of colorful meenakari in a great way.`

Tks: How does it feel post the response on your Lakme Fashion week debut?
Mri: I am very grateful for how things have shaped up so far. I couldn’t have asked for more! It was a dream of a Debut!Looking forward to doing more exciting work, meeting interesting people and traveling to new places.
Tks: What would be that one accessory which you think is unavoidable for a bride?
Mri: I feel that has to be Happiness in her heart reflecting in a vibrant smile! Inner peace, comfort and happiness is the best accessory. However, an heirloom piece to break the monotony of a stereotype. Also, that’s what sets every bride different from another. Any jewel close to heart and has meaning to the bride must always be a part of her trousseau.
In mrinalini’s words; It could belong to a gypsy nomad who impulsively shot a pair of shooting stars and wore them in her tangled braid all her life or a genius banker who calculates every single minute and plans the folds on her skirt while you think she is indulging in casual talks.
She who owns it must day dream, think, love and indulge.

  1. The jewellery looks high on fashion..but some of them are way too overborad in my opinion….like that belt jewellery…. Very difficult to carry such jewellery…. But very nice post ….. 🙂

  2. I like a few of them…but i feel when you buy a bangle then you should rub it on a piece of cloth before buying it as to check it does not get into your sari or suit and spoil it by pricking one thread 😛

    1. I have this terrible experience during my engagement, not bangles though . My heels (stones) spoilt my saree borders 🙁
