Umaid Bhawan – A Perfect Stay in Jaipur

Jaipur or Pink City is favorite of many people when it comes to vacation or a weekend get away or a pleasure trip etc. This is the perfect season to be there, considering the awesome weather. There are many star hotels which are famous and pricey along with being awesome, but we are writing about a budget 3 Star heritage hotel in Jaipur, Umaid Bhawan.

This was not a planned trip, hence there were some constraints for this trip, budget wise.  Hence I did some quick research and finalized the booking. After an hour of research I got a place to stay at a reasonable price, the Umaid Bhawan. I was excited about the stay after looking at some pics of the hotel interior. This hotel is located very close to Jaipur Junction railway station & bus station, behind collectorate in Bani Park area. The hotel provides free pickup from Railway Station & Bus Station (not from airport though). Another advantage is Hawa Mahal, City Palace, Raj mandir Cinemas and all bazaars famous for shopping are around 4 km distance from the hotel.

We reached an hour late than the plan and headed straight to the hotel. The moment we were in  front of Umaid Bhawan, the first site of the place itself gave us goosebumps. Pure Heritage hotel in the form a small palace with all modern amenities, awesome staff and excellent service. Our room gave us the feel of one of the one’s like a palaces. The room was furnished with traditional furniture along with Rajasthani artwork and paintings everywhere. Every nook and corner of the hotel was maintained well with art pieces which displayed the rich culture. Every floor had a common balcony for sitting and relaxing. There is a beautiful pool (not to deep though) but good enough for relaxing.

They have two restaurants, one is a coffee shop and the other is a beautiful restaurant on the terrace. There is traditional folk dance and music on the terrace restaurant in evenings. The seating was awesome with a common area and some independent old palace balconies on the corners of the terrace. Absolute bliss it was to sit inside one of the balconies (mahal type), sip some wine and enjoy the dinner with your spouse. We had complimentary breakfast in our package and the breakfast was yummy with Indian and Western options. Dinner & Drinks Menu was good with moderate pricing for drinks and dinner items. One specialty about the menu was it had the regular north Indian as well as pure western food options too.

You do not have to go out every day if you are staying at this place. Umaid Bhawan is a small palace as I said earlier, you can spend a whole day in the hotel sitting at the heritage styled lobbies, the awesome balconies or the beautiful poolside or even in the coffee shop. The management is good and they help you whatever way. The staff at this place is good and the service is excellent. Another good feature is they provide free wi-fi which means you can still depend on internet without paying extra. 🙂 Also, a good place to stay with your family in all ways to make your trip memorable.
