Weekend Brunch at United Coffee House Rewind

It has been quite some time since we had one of those weekend lunches where you go to one of those restaurants for the sheer pleasure of hogging yummy food. Also, it has been a long time since we have shared our food experiences.

DLF Mall of India is one place which we always prefer for a lazy weekend because it has got everything. Outlets, restaurants, parking space (if you go early on weekends) and above all enough space to roam around. The plan was simple, to shop some stuff for our next trip (yes we are going home again with a couple of pitstops :P) and check out a new restaurant which we haven’t been to. The choice was pretty simple this time and we went to none other than the United Coffee House Rewind (UCH) which opened a few months back.

On the outside, the restaurant has the look of a cafe or a bistro but as you enter UCH you will get to see the rustic furnishing and chandeliers hanging giving the feel of fine dining. They have a versatile menu with great options like Mediterreian, Asian, North Indian or European cuisines which can keep you drooling and searching on what to order. The restaurant was pretty full and since it was just three of us, we got a table in just 2 minutes. 🙂

Peruvian Lemonade and Mango Smoothie

We went and settled down quickly and ordered a starter, the “Mezze” along with a Mango Smoothie and a Peruvian Lemonade. The Mezze was a gorgeous looking platter with Hummus, Tzatziki, Fish Fatayer, Chicken Souvlaki, Lamb Kibbeh, Feta Cheese, Olives, and Pita Bread. It was good in quantity while being yummy & succulent at the same time. Our favorite one in the platter was Fish Fatayer. The bar menu was pretty good with almost all good types of alcohol served at decent rates. There were options for beer buckets too.
Also, from Monday to Thursday (12pm to 8pm) – they have offers on IMFL.

While we were munching on the Mezza we ordered the main course. We were excited to see pork on the menu and without any second thoughts, we ordered the Pork Shezwan. We were having pork after ages and we eagerly waited for the dish to come with our fingers crossed :D. Ta-Da Pork Shezwan did not disappoint us and was the MVP in the main course. For the main course, we thought to stick to Chinese and ordered Shezwan Noodles & Chicken Fried Rice to normalize all of these. The quantity was again good and we realized that we have ordered excess in excitement, but we managed not to waste any food 😛

Pork Shezwan, the MVP!

The menu had options like Mongolian, Rice Bowls, Indian, Continental and more. We stuck to the Chinese even though we wanted to taste all of them. LOL!

United Coffee House Rewind is definitely our new found favorite! Good food and good music!

Tips:

  • Reserve a table in advance if you are going there on weekends.
  • Chinese food quantity is good & so order accordingly. 1 chicken fried rice was okay for 3 of us after having the starters.
  • This is a place where you can sit & enjoy so don’t go there if you are in a hurry.
