TV Shows We Are Missing In India – The Elite Ones

Those shows!!! Game of Thrones, a common house hold name like cricket or soccer or saas bahu soaps. Game of Thrones is a series which is based on the story of kingdoms and the fight between kings seasoned with a bit too much violence, sex and what not. Still people love this series for the way the story moves. Another show which is very common among us is F.R.I.E.N.D.S, the ever green one. I am sure that almost all of us might have watched atleast one episode. Then there is House M.D, Grey’s Anatomy, Breaking Bad, Dexter, The Big Bang Theory etc Now other than these there are series like Master Chef, Top Gear etc which are very famous in our country. This year we are missing a lot of amazing TV shows or even if it’s being telecasted, we are not watching the original cut (censored and edited) like people in Western countries are watching. I made a list based on the likes of many people (like me).

TV Series we are missing in India
Game of Thornes

1) Game of Thrones: Obviously, this one is the Number 1 in all list. The way the story is progressing, this season (Season 5) is going to be awesome and of course with some unexpected twists.  The fifth season of Game of Thrones primarily adapts material from A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons, the fourth and fifth novels in George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, though it also uses elements from the third novel, A Storm of Swords. Fan fall for the characters like Tyrion Lannister, Arya Stark, The khaleesi, John snow and so on  keeps increasing while the unpredictable twist & turns by George R.R. Martin ensures this series always have the freshness instead of a dragging story line.

TV Series we are missing in India
Daredevil series

2) Dare Devil (You dare not compare the ‘Dare Devil’ movie with this show.) : This series based on the Marvel’s comic ‘Dare Devil’ is kickass. The first in a planned series of shows detailing the Marvel universe, “Daredevil” follows Matt Murdock, attorney by day and vigilante by night. Blinded in an accident as a child, Murdock uses his heightened senses as Daredevil, fighting crime on the streets of New York after the sun goes down. His efforts are not welcomed by powerful businessman Wilson Fisk — aka Kingpin — and others whose interests collide with those of Daredevil. Though Murdock’s day job portrays a man who believes in the criminal justice system, his alter ego suggests otherwise, as he takes the law into his own hands to protect his Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood and the surrounding communities. This is something we should be able to watch. The action sequences in Season 1 is so Effing awesome, I have watched the whole season 3 times (in netflix) during my stay abroad.

3)Shark Tank – A place where any entrepreneur can sell his idea or get investors to invest in his business and make it big. Budding entrepreneurs get the chance to bring their dreams to fruition in this reality show from executive producer Mark Burnett. They present their ideas to the sharks in the tank — five titans of industry who made their own dreams a reality and turned their ideas into lucrative empires. The contestants try to convince any one of the sharks to invest money in their idea. When more than one of the sharks decide they want a piece of the action, a bidding war can erupt, driving up the price of the investment.

4) The Profit -The Profit is an American reality television show broadcast on CNBC. On each episode Marcus Lemonis offers struggling small businesses capital investment and his expertise in exchange for an ownership stake in the company. The way he changes struggling business is not just a feel good factor, but at times it bring us to think about the fact that he can help many known people.

TV Series we are missing in India
The Flash

5) The Flash – I am sure there is a very few who doesn’t know Barry Allen and his power’s. The Flash is based on the DC Comics character Barry Allen / Flash, a costumed superhero crime-fighter with the power to move at superhuman speeds. It is a spin-off from Arrow, existing in the same fictional universe. The series follows Allen, portrayed by Grant Gustin, a crime scene investigator who gains super-human speed, which he uses to fight criminals including those who have also gained superhuman abilities.

These are some which I personally love. Unlike our Saas Bahu serials, these shows do start and end. Hence there is always that feeling to watch more and more. I don’t want to make this list a bigger one this time, but next time I will be writing about Arrow, Gotham, Orphan Black, True Detective, Community, The Walking Dead and more.

I wish if we had Netflix, hulu, vudu services in India 🙂 This way we will never miss any of these shows.
