Not every Sunday you get to see the favorite people whom you follow to read all their exciting travel tales and wonderful pictures & videos of places you want to go. This Sunday was special for us, we got to meet the travelling couple, Savi & Vid of Bruised Passports. They had organized a meet-up at Guppy by Ai along with some awesome Sushi and Wine by Sula. It was one of those awesome nights where we got to meet so many like minded travelers/wanderers and indulge in travel conversations which triggered the travel bug in us again.
The meetup was supposed to start at 7pm but we reached a wee bit early to find Vid & Siddharth (Savi’s brother) setting up stuff ready for the meetup while Savi, Anchal and Sangeeta aunty (Savi’s mom) were having a little conversation. We entered and said ‘Hi’ to Savi and there you see the giggle and excitement right in front of you which lasted till we left for home Wow! That was Savi in person. Our conversation started with the travel, trips, planning, future travels and soon Vid joined us to make it more awesome. The creative brain behind the lens, or the sniper with a DSLR We spoke about places and photography and some personal questions too; Yes that too happened because they are so cool and chilled out, it was easy conversing with them. We didn’t miss the chance to click some awesome pics since this was the right time with no other guests around. Savi had been smiling from the moment we met and we hardly saw her with a different expression for rest of the day..Wow! Such a happy person and that is where Sangeeta Aunty came into picture, the charming and youthful person or in other words, Savi’s mom.
What a wonderful person she is, we spoke about travel and asked her few questioned which we had in mind.
Laks: Which destination, made you worry about them the most? or which of the trips they had were the most dangerous as per you?
Sangeeta Aunty: Leh-Ladakh! Vid said they are driving there and it is not easy driving in Indian roads, especially when those roads are treacherous and driving here in normal traffic itself ain’t easy. She added saying that before they started the blog, they went to South Africa and that was also a worrying one considering the type of stories you hear about the place.
She is chilled out and extremely happy about what they are doing and she added, you guys should travel, see places and enjoy life. Yes, that’s it..Time to do the reality check. While we were talking to her came Siddharth, another avid traveler and backpacker who lives with his rucksack He also choose to live his life travelling places, meeting people and teaching people about meditation. A super special personality who can talk about anything and everything without any formalities and make you feel that you know him since long time
Soon guests started coming in large groups and Vid & Savi had to say hi to them. So, we got busy with our coffee/wine and started getting a feel of Guppy by Ai! That evening we were standing and all we can hear in that crowd was words like ‘Cambodia’, ‘Bali’, ‘Oz’, ‘New Zealand’, ‘Leh-Ladakh’ and more until Vid & Savi came to the center stage to welcome all and give a small summary about Bruised Passports They spoke about their journeys and one thing they do all the time irrespective of where they are is try and meet people who need help, kids mostly. THey even try to spend sometime with them teaching. They also said they make it a point to keep some stationary for kids while they travel and our respect for them reached a new height, altogether!
More Sula Wine and awesome Snacks by Sushi made the conversations bit more awesome. We met many more like minded folks who live the double life like us, the one of an employee and an avid traveler who wants to explore the beautiful world. It was nice to know that saving money comes second now a days when you can travel so easy.
