There are certain restaurants that do not need an introduction in Delhi NCR, Whisky Samba is one of those. We aren’t talking about those regular restaurants, but a fine dining place where good looking, Innovative and delicious food is served. Every single dish you order from the menu is a piece of art in every way. All credit goes to Chef Vikramjit Roy for making sure that every customer gets the unique experience of Whisky Samba.

Whisky Samba

A friend invited us for lunch at whisky-Samba and it was a day before elections, so no Liquor. We missed our opportunity to taste some super cocktails, but what we tried & tasted there will never leave our taste buds. There is a thing about food which food lovers know, Not all good looking food taste good. This doesn’t apply in the case of WhiskySamba. We were served some cracking salads to start with followed by appetizers and then mains. While the Lychee, Radish & Chilli Wasabi Lime Emulsion was vibrant and flavorsome Avocado & Waterchestnut salad was refreshing, just perfect summer pick. Lychee, Radish & Chilli Wasabi Lime EmulsionThe crispy kale salad had a different punch.

Then came the beautifully plated Poached Chicken salad which became my favorite here.

The Chicken Salad with walnuts was Lak’s favorite summer salad with the perfect combo of nuttiness, protein, and greens.

All these salads have an unusual refreshing taste which is ideal for the summer. While the Salads had triggered the foodie discussions & can’t eat more discussions there came the beautiful “Tofu Tartar”. This was one of the best vegetarian dishes I ever had, succulent, rich & flavorsome, A true piece of art. The non-vegetarian options like “Asian Bheja Dumpling” and the Mustard Crab Shaq Mai were interesting in terms of looks and flavor.

The potions were divided among us for most of the things and it had taken some space in our tummy for sure and then came the Main course. For the main course, we had Aam Kasundi fish along with rice, the authentic Ahuna Mutton and the hero of the day for me Roasted Marrow. The Roasted Marrow was served with a Red Rice (Rice mixed in the meat stock) and Rasam, can you imagine? The Rasam – Marrow combo worked so well that we couldn’t stop eating the red rice :D.

Next came the Barley Risotto with Ghee & the Sathu Parantha (best with Ahuna Mutton), I literally didn’t have any space after the red rice 😀

When we were at the peak of Foodgasm and most of us had stopped eating, there comes the beautiful desserts. The Callebaut Nuts & Bolts were the beautifully plated edible chocolate nuts & bolts with more of a coffee touch; I would say a little dark dessert just perfect for those who love the Dark chocolates & Coffee.

The Cointreau Tofu Cheese Cake looked beautiful, tasted more delicious and the star dessert of the day was “Rose Almond Panacotta with Ice-cream”. The best way to end a perfect lunch is by ordering this one as the theatricality it brings to the moment will make you taste it at least once even when you are already tummy full. One small spoonful of this heavenly dessert and you can’t stop craving for more.

The specially curated summer menu by the Chef Vikramjit Roy was super duper. Every single dish we had was beautiful by looks, by taste, and by the feel. WhiskySamba is that perfect place where you won’t feel that you ordered the wrong dish as every single dish, irrespective of veg/non-veg has a unique signature and haunting taste which will make you come here again & again. This is one of the places where you should go for a perfect dinner date starting with a wine and ending with one of the desserts calling it a night.
