Well, this is the new mantra for all those young minds, “The couple that stays fit together, travels longer together”, and the good news is, it is never too late to start.
The best part about adopting a healthier lifestyle as a travelling couple is that you’ll always have someone by your side to motivate and push you to go for an extra step. There are infinite number of ways how a couple can stay fit together in order to live a healthy and happy life. Talking about our case,we were also one of those easy going couples who didn’t really care much about their health. We are travellers who happen to be hard-core foodies and as far as we were concerned, we were happy travelling, but that is exactly where we were wrong. The turning point to a new and healthier life came when we were on a trek which was moderately difficult. Anyone with a reasonable level of physical fitness would find the trek easy. Halfway through the trek,“the need for change”, hit us pretty hard. We somehow managed to complete the trek, though not in style. But, that’s what is important, we finished it and never gave up. This gave us a reality check and a boost to start our new journey!
How to be healthy as a travelling couple?
Start with taking baby steps. Make sure you have a routine going on in your life. Eat on time, drink plenty of water, and most importantly watch your sleep cycle. In the modern day, sleep deprivation is the number cause for stress and anxiety, therefore, make sure you are getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep daily. We are all familiar with the phrase, “You are what you eat”, and it couldn’t be truer. Addiction to junk and fast food is your road to health problems like high cholesterol, diabetes, and what not! Eating healthy doesn’t mean completely cutting down your cravings for snacks and desserts, it only means putting a control over it. Early morning walks or jogs or working out in a gym are other things which would help you reduce unwanted body fat, improve your stamina and endurance. Apart from all this our body needs nutrition and energy to keep us fit and “Ensure” ensures the right mix to help give you with the nutrition and energy you need.
