Lavasa, Pune by Sarath Kuchi

Lavasa is a hill station located 3300 feet above sea level, nestled in the Western Ghats and serves as a luxury getaway location, on weekends or otherwise, to the people of Pune. It is planned and developed in the style of an Italian town, Portofino, and is spread over eight large hillocks. The lush green foliage surrounding Lavasa, as well as the calming lakeside ambience, makes this hill station a spot for permanent residents, too, as long as they can commute to Pune for work. There are several luxury Lavasa hotels and premium residences that visitors can choose from.

If you’re an adventure enthusiast, there are several adventure sports that you can be a part of in Lavasa, some of which we will go into detail.

Adventurous Jetovator Jet Scooter Ride

The Jetovator jet scooter rides are now available at Lavasa. You can enjoy the thrill of flying through water on jet scooters. This activity will get your blood pumping with adrenaline, and will leave you feeling refreshed and invigorated. To participate in this, you must be above 18 years of age and are required to know how to swim. The activity lasts for thirty minutes for each participant and costs Rs 5500* per person, which includes breakfast and lunch, safety equipment and expertise charges. If you want videos or photographs to be taken, you will be charged extra.

*Please note that the prices are subject to change.

Activities at Lakeshore

The water sports company, Lakeshore, organises several adventure sports, most of them involving water sports of some kind or the other.

Jet Skiing at Dasve lake, Gangtok by versageek

  1. Jet skiing: Does the idea of speed thrill you? Then a jet ski ride is a perfect sport for you. You can cut through the beautiful blue waters of Dasve lake at the speed of 80 kilometres per hour and feel the wind whipping up your hair and the adrenaline rushing in your veins.
  2. Kayaking: If you like solitude, and are brave enough to explore the lake by yourself, then you can kayak in the lake. It’ll just be you and your kayak, with only the gentle waters of the lake and surrounding chirp of the birds to keep you company.
  3. Bumper boats: If you want something tame, and yet have lots of fun, bumper boats are your option. Wake up the child in you and splash around in the lake in your own bumper boat. Play water fights in groups or simply float around – you can do whatever suits you best.

Adventures by Xthrill

Another company offering a wide variety of adventure sports that make up a big part of Lavasa tourism is Xthrill. They bring to you the experience of glamping (luxurious outdoor camping) with air-conditioned tents and modern bathroom facilities. You can play paintball with your colleagues if you’re going on a corporate outing, or you can participate in archery, rifle shooting or cycling. They also engage in outdoor activities like rappelling, rock climbing, valley crossing, hiking, raft building, and treks to waterfalls in the surrounding areas.
